Frequently Asked Questions

How does this online coaching work?

My work closes the gap between executive coaching and fitness coaching.

Too many times have I seen leaders with big ambitions get stubborn about one or the other. But you just can’t fragment the body from the mind.

That’s why my daily video lessons show you how to train your body and mind and what to eat, depending on your lifestyle and preferences. In our weekly coaching calls, we will channel your new energy to precisely tackle the challenges you’re facing in business.

The personal coaching holds you 100% accountable.

You will think twice about not doing your workouts or not stepping outside your comfort zone at work, when we have decided that it’s what you need to do and you know I will expect you to have performed in next week’s session.

What does the mental training help me with?

The self-analysis and journaling that I walk you through in the video library will help you beat any stress, self-doubt and hurdles that you put in your own way.

As an example: Right now you might feel stressed because of all the work tasks that are piling up. But by analyzing yourself you will understand that it is not the situation that decides over your stress, but the way you choose to deal with the situation.

Or how holocaust survivor and groundbreaking psychologist Victor Frankl put it:

“The last of the human freedoms: to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.”

Are training tutorials included? Do I need to go to the gym?

I give you detailed weight training tutorials that are heavily inspired by the strength training that Conor McGregor's Coach John Kavanagh walked me through for my own preparations to get fight-ready.

This means to combine various physical performance attributes. You will apply the underlying training methods to unite muscle strength, endurance, speed, flexibility and coordination in your body.

If this sounds too scary to start out with, or you don’t currently have access to a gym we'll start slowly with bodyweight exercises.

I will only ever let you progress to the next stage once you’re ready. Constant individualized progress is my mantra for you.

What about nutrition?

Nutrition is the most individualized part of the program. Me telling you that you shouldn’t eat pizza and chips won’t make a difference to your life.

That’s why you keep a journal of your food intake, I analyze it and give you a super-specific plan that shows each of the mistakes you’re making in food choice and timing. Then we find the right alternatives that you actually like to eat.

But Ruben why do I need you? Can't I just hire a personal trainer?Any action is good!

Do you want a great body? Pay a trainer $1,000 and you might get it. Do you want a great body and the laser-focused mindset of a champion? That’s why leaders come to me.

Probably some of the leaders I work with would eventually achieve their goals without me, just because they are so strong-willed.

However, they would have to use a lot of time, effort, and guesswork to find out what I already did.

It took me years to get the knowledge about body and mind that allowed me to become Germany’s #1 and fight for some of the biggest leagues in the world like Bellator.

It then took me even longer to find out how to keep this fitness up while running a business on a full-time basis.

To answer your question, you don’t want a coach if you want to keep getting what you’re already getting. But if you want to take the fast track to reach your health and business goals you might want to pass on some of the open questions of how to get there to someone who has the experience.

Or to put it in Peter Drucker’s words: “Do what you do best and outsource the rest”.

Do all of your clients get so energized and succeed as leaders? What if I don’t?

Fair question!

I guarantee that you will significantly raise your energy levels if you take the steps I lay out for you. If not, I’ll give you your money back within the first 14 days.

However, if you do not take the steps, I can also most certainly guarantee you that you will fail.

So far I didn’t have any clients who failed. That’s because, when they hit a ditch, they didn’t shy away from asking for help. I respond quickly to your emails or messages, so that failure is nearly impossible when you keep a beginner's mindset.

How much commitment do I need?

Our weekly or fortnightly coaching sessions are 60 minutes long.

The assessment and evolutionary steps are set over 7 weeks minimum. However, most of my clients take around 3 months to work their way through, as each module goes in-depth in 15-45 minute videos + journaling and training.

However, it is really you who decides over the speed you want to progress. After the first walk through the program, which I call the ‘macro-cycle’, I continue to work with many of my clients to make them use their new energy in the most impactful ways possible.

Are you really a pro fighter?

Yes, you can see many of my fights online. I believe that the challenges I overcame in my fights give me a unique insight, how to break through adversity.

What training and diet methods do you use?

The one that works for YOU.

I know, it’s not what you wanted to hear but I’m just being honest. There is so many individual foundations to consider, when building an optimal training and nutrition path, that it really comes down to where you’re at right now and where you want to go.

But don’t worry, all that is taken care of in step 0 when we assess your status quo.

What is the price?

This coaching process isn’t cheap. If you want to achieve outstanding results, you need to be willing to commit and invest in yourself.

I only discuss pricing in our strategy session if we decide that we’re a great fit to work together and conclude that the coaching is indeed the best and fastest way to get you to your long-term goals, way beyond just quickly shedding some weight.
